Hindi Medium Story
Raj Batra (Irrfan Khan) and Mita (Saba Qamar) fall in love with each other after which they get married. Raj is a small businessman and Mita is a home maker. The real troubles in their life start after they struggle to admit their daughter Piya into an English Medium school. They leave their ancestral home and move to a posh South Delhi location in an attempt to improve their status, so that they can fit in a society, where in Mita’s words. Hindi Medium Analysis :
Hindi Medium focuses on the lives of Indian couple and the challenges they face in the society. The film has been thoroughly entertaining and passable. Most of the episodes look realistic and they have been thought provoking. Most of the audience get related to some of them even atleast once during the film. With not much unwanted episodes, the first half of Hindi Medium has been good, engaging and entertaining.
The second half of Hindi Medium too has enough ingredients to impress the audience however the film dips down at parts. The slow pace is sure a worrying factor however the film picks back again before the damage takes place. The climax looks decent and heart touching. It is Irrfan’s show all over that drives the film completely. On the whole the second half of Hindi Medium is completely decent.
Hindi Medium Performance :
Irrfan Khan is the major highlight of the movie and he carries the entire film, drives it with dedication. His comic timings needs to be mentioned specially and he is the major highlight of the film. Saba Qamar has been perfect as Irrfan’s partner and she delivered out her best as a dominating wife. Deepak Dobriyal has been completely decent and Amrita Singh has been supportive. All the other actors have been decent and delivered out their best.
The story is based on some realistic incidents that take place in our daily life. The screenplay and the dialogues looked good and they have been apt. The cinematography is the major asset of the film and the background score has been gripping. The music looks soothing and the editing has been good. The production values looked lavish and the director stepped out with a realistic and heart touching film.
Final Word:
Hindi Medium is gripping, realistic and deserves an applause. Though it may not appeal to all the sections, the film can be given a shot for its content and the performances.
