Movie Reviews
October Story
October is all about Dan (Varun Dhawan) and Shiuli (Banita Sandhu) who are hotel management students and they work in the same hotel. They both are well bonded and they share a very good relation. Dan turns disturbed as his honesty lands his professional life in troubles. Shiuli who is much focused on her career gets hospitalized because of an accident. The rest of the film is all about how Dan and Shiuli get back and set up life making it a full circle. Watch October to know about the rest.
October Analysis :
October is more or less a fairy tale which has been laced with loads of love. Such pureness of love has never been discussed and October has many bright moments. But the slow pace and less appeal will restrict the film to a limited section of audience. The first half looks fresh, well written and presented differently. Though the songs end up as barriers, they have been well shot and they sound meaningful. The first half of October looks decent.
The second half of October dips down and goes on a snail pace. The film will not go well with major sections of audience. It is the emotional drama that impress the audience and the songs once again turn up as barriers. The climax of the film has been heart touching and October ends on an emotional note.
October Performance :
Varun Dhawan surprises the audience with his performance and he reveals a new shade from him. He has been flawless and exceptional especially during the emotional episodes. Baita Sandhu brings out the charm from the role of Shiuli though she is mostly absent because of the accident. All the other actors delivered out their best for the film.
The story of October looks beautiful and it has been laced with emotions. The screenplay and dialogues look ok and they should have been far better. The editing looks decent and the background score, cinematography are the major highlights of October. The production values have been decent and Shoojit Sircar steps out with one more interesting film but October appeals to a limited section of audience.
Final Word:
October is sure a different attempt and Varun Dhawan looks at his different best. Slow pace and boring second half are the barriers.
