Maya is about the story of Maya who has been joined in a Asylium as she kills her husband who cheats her having a relation with one more woman. She will be separated from her daughter after whom she follows the family of her daughter after her death. At the same time a batch of people start searching for a ring of Maya which is quite expensive. In this process everyone gets killed and the rest of the movie how Maya’s assets reach Mayuri. The first half of the film has been quite interesting as the story unfolds slowly revealing about the characters one by one. The narration has been very different and the director used a poetic way to reveal the movie. On the whole the first half of the movie has been very impressive with interest and horror shots taking the major role.

The second half of the film has dips at times and there are lot of flaws as many logics have been left incomplete. Some of the interesting characters end up with an unknown reason. However the last half an hour of the movie has been taken good care and the horror episodes along with a strong climax makes the second half decent.

Nayanathara who has already proved herself as an actress has done a tailor made role. She has delivered a fabulous performance as Mayuri and her expressions have been top notch. Aari has done an outstanding job and this will stand among his best works. All the other actors have given their best.

The story of the movie has been different from other horror films and the interesting screenplay along with the nail biting narration makes the movie interesting. The back ground score along with the cinematography are the highlights of the movie. The production values have been grand enough. The director has been successful in delivering a decent film.
