Sonam Kapoor to play a Painter

After playing Farhan Akhtar's love interest in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, feisty actress Sonam Kapoor will apparently play the lead role in another biopic. Sources say  that the actress will be playing the role of renowned painter Amrita Sher-Gil, known as India's Frieda Kahlo and that the actress is in talk with the painter's family for the same. Amrita Sher-Gil, born in 1913, was a pre Independece painter who belonged to a Punjabi Sikh Father and a Hungarian Jewsih Mother.

Having lived in France and India, she died in 1941. Sources further told mid-day that the film would depict Sher-Gil's life, love, friends and her mentors. Sonam Kapoor is currently busy promoting her latest flick Khoobsurat which is releasing on September 19th. Sonam is also acting with Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in the direction of Sooraj R. Barjatya.
