Rock On happened to be the first Musical drama in the history of Bollywood and the movie created huge sensation all over. Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Prachi Desai played the main leads in the movie which has been directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Rock On released in September 2008 and raked huge money at the box-office. Now exactly after seven years, the sequel for the movie titled Rock On 2 is under pre production currently. Farhan Akhtar will reprise the role of the musician in the movie and the regular shoot of the movie will start from August this year.

Arjun Rampal has been finalized for the other important role in the movie and Shraddha Kapoor will play the female lead in the sequel. The interesting news is that Shraddha will sing couple of songs in the movie. The latest update is that Rock On 2 will complete shoot and will release for September 2016. Shujaat Saudagar is making his directorial debut with this film and he is busy with the script of the movie. Shankar Eshaan Loy will compose the music and Ritesh Sidwani, Farhan Akhtar will produce the movie on Excel Entertainments banner.
