Udta Punjab Release Pushed Ahead

Talented director Abhishek Chaubey worked hard and came out with the film titled Udta Punjab. The movie is about the issue of substance abuse in Punjab. Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh played the lead roles in the movie which has been trending all over after the release of the theatrical trailer.

The makers wrapped up the shoot some time ago and they announced that the film will hit the screens on June 17th however the movie has been facing tough time with the censor board. They rejected many episodes and asked to trim them as they felt that the film has objectionable content. The censor board suggested 40 cuts for the film and the makers who were not happy with this approached the Information and Broadcasting Ministry along with the Film Certificate Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) requesting them to intervene into the issue.

This process takes some time and the makers are quite confident that they will find a solution. The censor board also suggested dropping down ‘Punjab’ from the title which shocked the makers. However sources revealed that the movie will hit the screens sometime in July and will not make it for a June release.
