NBK completes Four Decades

Actor-turned-politician Balakrishna has joined the elite league of film personalities,who have completed four decades in the industry.His debut film, Thathamma Kala released back in 1974 when he was just 14 years old and since then, he has acted in 99 films. Over the past few months, there has been a lot of buzz about his 100th film. However, the actor laughs off the hype saying, "Except me, I think everyone is eagerly waiting for that film. I am not even thinking about the 100th film and I believe in striking when the iron is hot”.

The actor even claims that he doesn't believe in following the trend, although he confesses that he's a director's actor. "I don't believe in following the trend just for the heck of it. When someone approaches me with a story, the only thing I look at is whether my characterisation is interesting or not. Also, the audiences expect something from me and I shouldn't disappoint them by experimenting too much. Once I agree to do a film, I don't interfere at all. I just do what my directors tell me to do," he said.

Even since he got elected from Hindupur constituency, Balakrishna has been dividing his time between his film projects and duties as a politician. "I have decided to devote my time to oversee the development works in my constituency, apart from acting in films," he said.
