Ever since the biopic of the legendary actress Savitri, the Telugu and Tamil audience have been eagerly waiting for the movie. The film has been titled Mahanati and the pre-production work of the movie is currently in final stages. Nag Ashwin is the director of the movie and the regular shoot of the film will start from the mid of May. Keerthy Suresh will reprise the role of Savitri and Samantha will have an interesting role to play. The other cast are being finalized and it has been revealed that the makers are finding it tough to finalize an actor for Gemini Ganeshan’s role which is quite crucial.

As per the latest news, Anushka Shetty and Prakashraj have been asked to play crucial roles in the movie and they gave their nod. Nag Ashwin is currently in talks with few other actors which will be finalized soon. Mayabazar and Missamma are special films in the career of actress and some of the episodes will be used for the movie revealed a source. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema will jointly produce this biopic in Telugu and Tamil which will be made on a massive budget.
