Remember Mouna Ragam that was released in the year 1986? It was a romantic drama directed by Mani Ratnam and had Mohan, Karthik and Revathi in the lead roles. Ilayaraja's soothing music and PC Sreeram's stunning cinematography made that film a masterpiece in history of South Indian Cinema. Reports say that Mani Ratnam is all set to remake his own film this time with Malayalam actor Dulquar Salman and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. AR Rahman and PC Sreeram are likely to be the Music Director and Cinematographer respectively. 

 

Though this project is not yet confirmed, speculations are strong that Mani Ratnam will reveal the complete details very soon. Earlier, Mani Ratnam planned to make a multistarrer film with Telugu actors Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu but that project has been shelved due to unknown reasons. Mani Ratnam's last film 'Kadali' was declared as a disaster at the box-office and the filmmaker is working hard to deliver a hit film this time.
