Versatile director Maniratnam is now relaxed after the release of his last movie OK Bangaram which gave him the much needed success after a series of debacles. Dulquar Salman and Nithya Menon played the main leads in the movie and after a small break, Maniratnam is gearing up for his next project. The movie is currently in pre production and the regular shoot of the film is expected to start from November this year. The script work of the movie is in final stages and the other cast, crew are being finalized.

Karthi and Dulquar Salman will play the male leads in the movie as per the update which has been titled as Komali. Nayanathara is rumored to play one of the female lead in the movie and an official confirmation will be out soon. The other female lead is yet to be decided and the shoot of the film will be wrapped up in 90 days. AR Rahman will compose the music for Komali and PC Sreeram will handle the cinematography. Maniratnam will produce the film on his own banner Madras Talkies which will complete shoot and will release for summer next year.
