Arvind Swamy, who made a comeback after a seven year sabbatical with Mani Ratnam's Kadal, is set to play a negative and powerful role in Jayam Ravi starrer 'Thani Oruvan'. The film starring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead is an action-entertainer laced with romance.

Announcing the Roja star joining the team, Jayam Ravi tweeted, "Happy to announce @thearvindswami is joining team Thani Oruvan :) I'm honoured to work alongside him & luk fwd to a grt exp! Welcome Sir”. Produced by AGS Entertainment, Nayanthara will play a cop in the film which has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Ganesh Venkatraman acts in an important supporting role in the flick.
