Velai Illa Pattadhari directed by Dhanush?

While Velai Illa Pattadhari has been declared a hit, industry sources say that Dhanush has directed the film. Though the title card mentions Velraj as the director, we hear that Dhanush has totally involved in the direction part of the film.

An industry insider tells us, "Right from the beginning Dhanush was directing the film on the set. He just wanted to try out his hand in direction for a very long time. Though Velraj also was part of the film, Dhanush directed it. He was not confident to take his name on the title card. He wanted to check the response of the audience and may be from next time he will take his name on the title card, if he directs a film.
