With the intention of improving the quality of life of the female patients having non-metastatic breast cancer, the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has conducted a clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of the ayurvedic drugs.
When the malaise has not spread across the body, then it is considered as non-metastatic breast cancer. Primarily, CCRAS and AIIMS conducted the clinical trial on non-metastatic breast cancer patients.
Improving the quality of patient’s life, with the traditional chemotherapy, is the objective of this trial.

Dr Rajeshwar Reddy of Podar Hospital and Ayurved Medical College said, “Patients suffering from breast cancer can develop many side effects, such as lack of appetite, headaches or fatigue. However, when they opt for ayurvedic treatment, an improvement in their quality of life can be observed within two or three months.”
On the contrary, Dr Sanjay Sharma, consultant onco-surgeon at Bombay Hospital, said, “Ayurveda can improve the immunity of patients. I do not agree that it can improve their quality of life as such, but it helps the patients tolerate their therapy better.”
