Fidaa is the story of Varun (Varuntej) who resides in USA along with his brother (Raja). His brother gets married to Sharanya during which Varun meets Bhanumathi (Sai Pallavi) who is a village based educated girl. Varun gets impressed to Bhanumathi bigtime however he has dreams of making it big in USA. Bhanumathi always loves to stay in the village along with her father (Sai Chand). The first half of Fidaa has been extremely impressive right from the first frame. The film has been racy, fresh, loaded with loads of entertainment and it has been shot across beautiful locales. Sai Pallavi takes the lead and impresses the audience bigtime with her performance alone. The songs have been shot across beautiful locales and the narration has been pleasant. With an interesting interval episode, the first half of Fidaa impresses the audience bigtime in all the available ways.

The second half of the film fails to live up the expectations. The first half an hour of the movie has been utterly wasted and makes no difference. The movie picks up again however the predictable narration fails to make much impact across the audience. The climax episodes have been shot well and the second half of Fidaa will sure fail to meet up the expectations.

Sai Pallavi is undoubtedly the major highlight of the movie. She has been extremely energetic and is a perfect choice for the role of a Telangana village girl. Her efforts have been completely visible on screen and she is here to make a huge impact with her performance and screen presence. Varuntej has been decent as Varun and he has been completely expressive. On the other side he needs to shed weight as he looks to bulky on screen. All the other actors delivered out their best for the movie and supported well.

The story of Fidaa is thin and interesting. The screenplay and the dialogues are quite crucial for emotional entertainers like Fidaa. The first half has been written extremely well while the second half should have been written better. The music and the background score strike hard and they elevated the film well. The cinematography is an example of the grand production values and the editing has been decent. Sekhar Kammula did a fantastic job for the first half however the second half should have been handled well.

Sai Pallavi makes one of the finest debuts of Telugu cinema. She tops the show and dominates in each and every scene however a better second half would have done wonders.
